The avocado is a delicious topping for these burgers, and subbing in cilantro for lettuce gives them an even bigger flavor boost. You can also skip the bun serve the burgers on a salad of chopped lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, and cilantro.

Ingredients

Uncooked extra lean ground turkey breast

Red onion

2 Tbsp, chopped, minced

Dried plain breadcrumbs

1 Tbsp

Canned chipotle peppers in adobo sauce

1 tsp, finely chopped

Table salt

Canola oil

Plain low fat yogurt

Light mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. 1 Stir together turkey, onion, bread crumbs, chipotles en adobo, and 3/4 teaspoon salt in medium bowl just until combined. With damp hands, shape mixture into 4 (1/2-inch-thick) patties.
  2. 2 Heat oil in large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add patties and cook, turning once, until instant-read thermometer inserted into side of each burger registers 165°F, about 10 minutes.
  3. 3 Meanwhile, to make the dressing, stir together yogurt, and mayonnaise, and remaining 1/8 teaspoon salt in small bowl.
  4. 4 Spread dressing inside of buns. Fill buns with burgers, tomato slices, onion slices, avocado, and cilantro sprigs.
  5. Serving size: (1 dressed burger and 1 1/2 tablespoons dressing)
