Veal in Red Wine Sauce

If you can't find red currant jelly in your grocery store, browse through a gourmet food market or search for it online.

Ingredients

olive oil

1 tsp

uncooked lean veal sirloin

1 pound(s), (four 4-oz veal chops)

uncooked onion(s)

1 small, finely chopped

table wine

½ cup(s), red

jelly

2 Tbsp, currant

unpacked brown sugar

½ Tbsp

cornstarch

1 tsp

water

2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a nonstick pan and add veal. Cook until browned.
  2. In a small pan, heat onion, wine, jelly and sugar. Bring to a boil, lower heat and cook for 3 minutes.
  3. Combine cornstarch and water and add it to pan. Stir until sauce thickens. Serve over veal.
