This quick and easy recipe consists of bacon, onion and cream cheese wrapped in a buttery crescent roll and baked to golden perfection.Classic store-bought crescent rolls make this dish simple and delicious. Prepare these spirals ahead of time, arrange them on the baking sheet, then bake them at the site of the party so they are fresh when served. They make an excellent appetizer, afternoon snack or can also be a special breakfast. With just four simple ingredients, they take less than five minutes to prepare and cook in just 12 minutes.

Ingredients

Fat free cream cheese

3 Tbsp, at room temperature

Crisp cooked bacon

4 slice(s), crumbled

Onion

1 small, minced

Crescent dinner roll

8 oz, reduced-fat refrigerated tube

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Spray a nonstick baking sheet with nonstick spray.
  2. Combine the cream cheese, bacon, and onion in a small bowl until well blended.
  3. Separate the dough to make 4 rectangles and arrange them on a work surface. Press the perforations together with your fingers to make 1 (8 x 13-inch) rectangle. Spread the cheese mixture onto the dough. Starting with the long side, roll up, jelly-roll style. Cut the roll, crosswise, into 24 (1/2-inch) slices. Using a small spatula, transfer the slices, cut-side up, about 1/2 inch apart, onto the baking sheet.
  4. Bake until puffed and golden, 10–12 minutes. Serve hot. Yields 2 pieces per serving.
