This super fast and tasty shrimp boasts the flavors of garlic, sweet smoked paprika, parsley, lemon juice and cilantro. We preferred sweet smoked paprika in this dish for its sweet, smoky flavor, but you can also use regular paprika if you prefer. We cleaned and deveined the shrimp in cold water and placed the shrimp on a paper towel to absorb any additional water. Make sure to spread the shrimp in a single layer across the pan so that they cook evenly. If you like, serve the shrimp over a bed of steamed spinach drizzled with lemon juice.

Ingredients

Uncooked shrimp

1¼ pound(s), large; peeled, deveined, and patted dry

Table salt

¼ tsp, or to taste

Olive oil

4 tsp

Garlic

6 clove(s), finely chopped

Paprika

1½ tsp, sweet smoked paprika

Fresh parsley

1 Tbsp, chopped

Cilantro

1 Tbsp, chopped; plus more for garnish

Fresh lemon juice

½ tsp

Instructions

  1. Toss shrimp with salt. Heat large heavy skillet over high heat until very hot. Lightly coat bottom of pan with 1 teaspoon oil; heat until lightly smoking. Add half of shrimp in single layer. Cook just until golden and orange, about 10 seconds; turn shrimp quickly. Cook 10 seconds more; immediately transfer to plate. Repeat with remaining shrimp and 1 teaspoon oil.
  2. Reduce heat to medium-high; add remaining 2 teaspoons oil. Add garlic and cook, stirring, until light golden but not browned, about 2 minutes. Stir in paprika; return shrimp to pan.
  3. Reduce heat slightly and cook until shrimp are just opaque in center, about 1 minute; stir in parsley, cilantro, and lemon juice. Serve shrimp with pan sauce spooned over top and garnish with additional cilantro.
  4. Serving size: about 7 shrimp
