Say hello to this spicy riff on a classic BLT! To kick up the heat, we’ve skipped the mayo in lieu of harissa, which is an aromatic chile paste that’s commonly used in African and Middle Eastern cooking. The bright red condiment is typically made with smoked chile peppers, tomatoes, garlic, olive oil and a blend of spices including cumin, coriander, and caraway so it partners very well with Canadian bacon. Look for harissa paste in the International aisle at your local supermarket. In this hearty sandwich for one, grab a grilled chicken breast from your grocer’s deli or plan to use any leftover chicken you have at home.
