Spice up summer's bounty of melons with our delightful ginger-flavoured sauce.

Ingredients

Water

360 ml

Artificial sweetener

150 g

Ground Ginger

2 teaspoon(s), level

Cloves, Whole or Ground

1 teaspoon(s), level, (use ground)

Allspice

1 teaspoon(s)

Watermelon

440 g, chunks, seeded

Cantaloupe Melon

¼ slice(s), medium, cubed

Blueberries

Instructions

  1. Combine water, sweetener, ginger, cloves and allspice in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until dissolved, stirring occasionally, about 15 minutes. Remove from heat; cover and chill at least 30 minutes. (Note: This sauce can be prepared a day ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator).
  2. Divide watermelon, cantaloupe and blueberries evenly among 6 dessert dishes. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of sauce over each and serve.
