How to make your own mantra

Published 22 August, 2016

Want to feel happier, calmer, more positive? Try this easy tips from our Be Happy book.

Weight loss is 50 per cent attitude – so staying positive, motivated and focused is essential for success.

When you’re feeling frustrated, powerless or insecure, repeating your very own mantra (in your head or out loud) can rekindle your va-va-voom and get you back on track. The best mantras are short, simple and personal to you.

Do a little soul-searching, spend time online, think about words that speak to you and what you want to achieve.

Write it down on lots of post-its and put them where you’ll see them – on your fridge, on your mirror, in your car, in your journal. They’ll act like positive reminders of how awesome you are.

Try phrases such as…

  • I trust me
  • Repeat after me – I can do this
  • Kindness begins with me
  • Inhale confidence. Exhale doubt.
  • Progress not perfection
