When the days become shorter and life becomes busier, there’s no better way to strategize your continued healthy eating than by making use of your slow cooker. This appliance, which can be left undisturbed as it cooks its contents using low and slow heat, has myriad uses for every meal of the day. Our slow cooker meal plan features delicious and filling recipes which yields leftovers for the following day, making mealtimes that much easier.

This meal plan includes crowd-pleasing slow cooker recipes containing ingredients such as steel-cut oats, braised chicken, beans, and lean beef—each of which benefit from long cooking times. To keep meals feeling fresh, think about modifying toppings with your favourite ZeroPoint foods. For example, top oatmeal with different kinds of fruit or add fresh salsa, cilantro, and thinly sliced green onions to our slow cooker turkey chili. The egg-based recipes we’ve chosen for breakfast pair well with hot sauce, a dollop of non-fat sour cream or plain yogurt, and a side of fresh fruit.

If you don’t have these liners, simply coat the crock of the slow cooker with a few sprays of unflavoured vegetable cooking spray before adding the ingredients.
