Slow Cooker Chicken Tikka Masala

Everyone’s favorite Indian takeout dish, lightened up in a slow cooker.
canned crushed tomatoes28 oz
uncooked onion(s)1 small, minced
minced garlic1 Tbsp
ginger root1 Tbsp, fresh, minced
garam masala2 Tbsp
dark brown sugar1 Tbsp
ground cumin½ tsp
ground coriander½ tsp
uncooked boneless skinless chicken thigh(s)2 pound(s)
kosher salt1 Tbsp
plain lowfat Greek yogurt½ cup(s)
cilantro¼ cup(s), fresh, chopped (optional)
- Combine all ingredients, except yogurt and cilantro, in slow cooker. Cook on high for 3 to 4 hours or low for 6 to 8 hours. Stir in yogurt and cilantro. Yields about 1 cup chicken with sauce per serving.
