Quick Seared Tuna Steaks

It's amazing how a few simple ingredients can quickly transform fresh fish into a delicious entree.
sherry (dry or sweet)¼ cup(s)
low sodium soy sauce2 Tbsp
fresh lime juice1 Tbsp
olive oil2 tsp
uncooked tuna1 ½ pound(s), (four 6-oz steaks)
table salt¼ tsp
black pepper½ tsp, coarsely ground
- Combine first 3 ingredients in a small bowl, stirring well with a whisk. Set aside.
- Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Sprinkle steaks with salt and pepper; add steaks to pan. Cook 4 minutes on each side until steaks are medium-rare or desired degree of doneness. Transfer steaks to a serving dish, and keep warm. Pour sherry mixture into pan. Cook 1 to 11⁄2 minutes or until reduced to 2 tablespoons, stirring to deglaze pan; pour over steaks. Yield: 4 servings (serving size: 1 tuna steak and 1⁄2 tablespoon sauce).
