Serve these crunchy Italian-flavored croutons in your favorite salad and soup recipes, or use them in a savory bread casserole. Make a big batch and store them in an air-tight container. They'll be good to use for a few days.

Ingredients

Cooking spray

4 spray(s)

Reduced-calorie oatmeal bread

2 slice(s), frozen

Italian seasoning

¼ tsp

Garlic salt

1 pinch(es), or to taste

Kosher salt

1 pinch(es), or to taste

Black pepper

1 pinch(es), or to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375℉. Coat a small baking pan with cooking spray.
  2. Place the frozen slices of bread on top of each other. Using a serrated knife, cut the bread into even, bite-size squares (4 rows of 5 squares per slice). Place the bread squares in a medium bowl and coat with cooking spray. Add the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper, and toss to coat.
  3. Spread the bread on the prepared pan in an even layer. Bake the croutons until lightly browned and crispy, shaking the pan once, 7 to 10 minutes. Let cool.
  4. Serving size: 1/2 of the croutons (about 1/2 cup)
