These tasty pasties use filo pastry to keep the fat low, yet they're still super-tasty!

Ingredients

Potatoes, Raw

2 portion(s), medium, peeled and cut into 1 cm (1/2 inch dice)

Carrots, raw

1 small, finely chopped

Calorie controlled cooking spray

5 spray(s)

Onion

1 small, finely chopped

Petits Pois, boiled

50 g, frozen, thawed

Salt

1 pinch

Black pepper

teaspoon(s)

Filo Pastry

5 sheet(s), small, Vegan, thawed if frozen

Instructions

  1. Cook the potatoes and carrot in lightly salted boiling water until tender - about 10 minutes. Drain well, then partially mash them with a fork.
  2. Spray a non-stick frying pan with low fat cooking spray. Add the onion and cook until lightly browned. Mix with the peas, carrots and potatoes. Season with salt and pepper. Allow to cool.
  3. Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 5/190°C/fan oven 170°C. Mist two baking sheets with low fat cooking spray.
  4. Cut the stack of filo pastry sheets into 8 equal squares. Share the potato mixture between the squares. Dampen the edges, then bring the opposite corners together to enclosing all the filling, pressing to seal. Place them on the baking sheets as you prepare them.
  5. Lightly spray the pasties with low fat cooking spray, then bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden.

Notes

Use sweetcorn instead of peas, if you prefer.
