If you love bread, this dough is a game-changer! All you need is 0% fat natural Greek yogurt and self-raising flour to make a budget-friendly dough. Yes, really! It has a subtle tang and is so versatile, you can turn it into a host of bready snacks

Ingredients

White Self Raising Flour

220 g

0% fat natural Greek yogurt

250 g

Salt

½ teaspoon(s)

Bicarbonate of Soda

1 tablespoon(s), level

Honey

1 tablespoon(s), level

Ground Cinnamon

1 teaspoon(s), level

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C, fan 180°C, gas mark 6 and line a baking tray with baking paper. In a medium bowl, combine the self-raising flour,Greek yogurt and salt to make a dough. Divide into eight equal portions then roll each one into a 40cm-long log. Twist each log into a pretzel shape then press down gently.
  2. Set a medium pan of water over a high heat and bring to a boil. Add the bicarbonate of soda then reduce the heat to a simmer. Working in batches, poach the pretzels for 15 seconds then remove with a slotted spoon and transfer to the prepared baking tray.
  3. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until browned. Meanwhile, heat the honey until warm, then stir in the cinnamon. Brush the honey mixture over the warm pretzels.

Notes

Got leftovers? These will keep for up to 3 days in the fridge or up to 3 months in the freezer. Or, make a batch in advance to freeze – they make great snacks, party nibbles and easy dinnertime sides.
