Crunchy with a hint of Middle Eastern spice, this delicious snack is super-easy to make

Ingredients

Calorie Controlled Brown Bread

4 slice(s)

Olive Oil

1 tablespoon(s)

Za'atar seasoning

1 tablespoon(s)

0% fat natural Greek yogurt

75 g

Harissa paste

1 tablespoon(s)

Parsley, fresh

4 sprig(s), fresh

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C, fan 180°C, gas mark 6. Line a large baking tray with baking paper (two smaller trays will work as well). Trim the crusts from the bread, then roll each slice out with a rolling pin until very thin.
  2. Brush with the olive oil, then cut each slice into tortilla chip-size triangles or squares. In a large bowl, toss with the za’atar, then arrange in a single layer on the lined baking tray (or trays).
  3. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes, turning once halfway through, until golden and crisp. Place onto a wire rack and set aside to cool completely
  4. Meanwhile, make the dip by mixing together the yogurt and harissa, and season lightly. Garnish with the parsley and serve with the bread crisps.

Notes

If you can’t get hold of za’atar spice, use 1 tbsp sesame seeds and dried herbs instead.
