Cooking tips for mince
- Great news- Chicken breast mince and turkey breast mince are ZeroPoint™ foods on Blue and Purple food plans. Be aware that the turkey mince available from supermarkets may not be ZeroPoint, as it includes breast and leg meat. Ask your local butcher to mince turkey breast for you.
- Choose ‘lean’ mince (less than 10% total fat) where possible.
- Store packaged mince in the fridge and cook by the use-by date; ‘loose’ mince from the butcher is best cooked within 1–2 days. Mince can be frozen for up to 3 months.
- Always cook mince meals all the way through.
