This warming, homey preparation is too easily overlooked at breakfast. Oatmeal warms the insides, so it's ideal for cozy winter mornings, but it's also just as delicious and earthy as a bowl of grainy granola. Oatmeal offers great, school morning-rush nourishment, too, and is ready in minutes after a few quick stirs of the pot. Creamy oatmeal is key, and this recipe makes for a velvety smooth bowl, scented with cinnamon and pear flavors. You could top the oatmeal with toasted walnuts as directed, and add fresh pomegranate arils (seeds). Look for them in the refrigerated section of the produce aisle.
