Uncooked string beans
1 pound(s), washed, trimmed, and cut into 2½- to 3-inch pieces
6 medium, scrubbed and quartered
Unsalted chicken broth

- In large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat and cook, stirring often, until foamy and light golden brown, about 1 minute.
- Add onion, garlic, and pinch each of salt and black pepper and cook, stirring constantly, until aromatic, about 1 minute. Add green beans, radishes, and broth. Add another pinch of salt and bring to boil. Reduce heat to simmer. Cover with lid slightly ajar and cook, stirring occasionally, until beans are cooked to desired doneness, about 20 minutes for very tender.
