Start with prepared refrigerated dough and you can turn out homemade treats like these knots in under half an hour. They’re so easy you can enlist your kiddos to help make them. Everyone will love the warm and cozy aroma that will fill your kitchen. We call for regular sugar here, but you could also use brown sugar if you like its deeper flavor. Serve them warm or at room temperature with a cup of coffee or milk. Store leftovers in air-tight container for up to a day. To reheat, wrap them in aluminum foil and place in oven at 350°F for 7 to 10 minute or until warm.

Ingredients

Sugar

2 Tbsp

Ground cinnamon

½ tsp

Refrigerated bread stick dough

11 oz

Butter-flavor cooking spray

3 spray(s)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Coat a large baking sheet with cooking spray.
  2. In a small bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon. Mix well and set aside.
  3. Unroll breadsticks and cut each in half lengthwise (to make a total of 24 pieces). Arrange pieces on prepared baking sheet and coat with cooking spray. Sprinkle 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon-sugar mixture over each piece. Tie each piece into a knot (pulling dough gently if necessary). Sprinkle remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture over knots.
  4. Bake until puffed up and golden brown, about 15 minutes. Serve warm. Yields 2 knots per serving.
