Try your own favorite combination of fruits in this simple, refreshing compote that’s ready in just 5 minutes. Spoon the compote over oatmeal, waffles, and pancakes. It makes a lovely dessert, too. The crystallized ginger, with its spice and sweetness, adds some punch. Pulverizing it in the food processor along with the sour cream helps to evenly distribute it throughout the compote. For a denser topping, chop the ginger by hand and whisk it into the sour cream. Plain fat-free yogurt can be substituted for the sour cream, and if you prefer to avoid alcohol, use orange juice instead of the liqueur.

Light sour cream

cup(s)

Crystallized ginger

2½ Tbsp, chopped

Orange

Blueberries
