Our quick and easy dough made from self-rising flour and ZeroPoint Greek yoghurt gets a savoury flavour boost from garlic powder and Italian seasoning. The dough is rolled into a rectangle, cut into strips, and twisted to form a classic breadstick shape; then it’s brushed with seasoned olive oil and sprinkled with parmesan cheese before baking. The cheese melts into the breadsticks' exterior, giving them an irresistible crunchy outer coating. These are best enjoyed warm.

Ingredients

White self-raising flour

1 cup(s), (150g)

Mixed spice

1½ tsp, Italian, divided

Garlic powder or flakes

1 tsp, divided

99% fat-free, plain Greek yoghurt, unsweetened

¾ cup(s), (180g)

Olive oil

1½ tsp

Grated parmesan cheese

1½ tbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C. Line a large baking tray with baking paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, 1 tsp Italian seasoning, and ¾ tsp garlic powder. Add yoghurt and stir with a wooden spoon until just combined. Knead the dough in the bowl with your hands until smooth, 1 to 2 minutes. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and roll into a 25 x 20 cm rectangle. Cut the dough crosswise into 8 equal strips. Place the strips on the prepared pan, and gently twist each one.
  3. Combine the oil, remaining ½ tsp Italian seasoning, and remaining ¼ tsp garlic powder in a small cup; brush gently over the breadsticks. Sprinkle the breadsticks evenly with cheese. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
