Jordan lost 33 lbs*

*People following the WW program can expect to lose 1-2 pounds/week. Jordan lost weight on a prior program and is continuing on PersonalPoints™. Watch how Jordan was able to get healthier without giving up the foods she loves in the video below.

In Jordan’s words:
I had been feeling something strange in my throat when I swallowed, and it was scary, so I got it checked out. I thought it might be a cyst, and I was almost annoyed that I’d been scared over what turned out to be a sore from acid reflux. My doctor gave me medication to treat it, but I knew the reflux was also caused by what I ate. I joined WW a few days later.

Jordan’s simple tweaks

Making the switch
After the first week, I felt so much better. I really started to notice my habits; I have three teenage boys, and with all their different activities, we were always grabbing fast food on the go. No wonder I had acid reflux! I started counting my PersonalPoints and I felt just as satisfied eating healthy, delicious food. Plus, I could still bake my sweet treats, and that made me happy.

The sweet life
Baking is therapeutic — it clears my mind and helps me relieve stress. Plus, giving the treats to others warms my heart. And I’m always making something. I usually try to bake for my boys every week. I belong to a bible study group, and I bake for them each week, too. Cake pops and banana chocolate-chip mini-muffins are my current specialties. And if I want one, I’ll have it — and track it. I never feel deprived because I can bake or eat whatever I please, as long as I’m being accountable.

Satisfying my sweet tooth
Though I love to bake, I’m careful not to overdo it. I’ve found ways to fit in sweet treats into my new healthy life: I buy sugar-free puddings that are only 3 PersonalPoints each, and if I have a craving at night, I drink a glass of sugar-free apple cider — a ZeroPoint™ food for me, and a sweet-tooth cure!

How Jordan’s success with WW has improved her life

Power of the pedal
When I first joined WW, I wasn’t exercising at all. Slowly I started to add bike riding into my life, and I found it to be so much fun. I went on rides with my family, and now I ride regularly; there’s a four-mile route in my neighborhood that I bike four or five times in one sitting. When I’m riding my beach cruiser, it’s like my mind, body, and soul all get a workout. Just like on my larger journey, I tell myself, “Just keep pedaling.”

Moving forward
When I reached my goal, I was scared; I was fearful of what was next and I was scared to gain the weight back. Even just yesterday, my youngest son asked to go to the drive-thru. We went, and I was starving, but I resisted temptation. I took out my phone, looked at different items in the WW app, and I realized that nothing on the menu was worth the PersonalPoints. They weren’t worth having acid reflux — which I don’t have anymore, thanks to the program! And it wasn’t worth feeling bad about myself. Instead, I had a granola bar in my purse and I ate it happily. Today, I’m not scared anymore. It’s no longer an option for me to stray off this path. I want to make healthy choices — it’s just my way of life.
