When did you start your WW journey?

WW has always been a part of my life - I used to go with my mum and my nan when I was a teenager. Like everyone else, I've had life's ups and downs. I’m an emotional eater - I celebrate and comfort myself with food - and every now and then that's led to weight gain, which I wanted to lose to boost my confidence. WW is where I've always gone, because it works. And everything’s there to help you succeed: the app, the Workshops, the support, everything.

Tell us about your weight loss journey.

After I started, the weight started falling away bit by bit. I found that as my weight went down, my confidence levels went up. There's definitely a knock-on effect, and I can 100% see the difference in myself now compared to when I first started.

It's about so much more than losing weight: it's a completely holistic approach. You don't even have to step on the scales if you don't want to! If you want great recipe ideas, a supportive community, encouragement to boost your fitness, a sleep tracker, mini meditations...it’s all there! It really is a healthy lifestyle. And it can help you feel happier, more confident, and totally supported in whatever you want to do.

What do you love about the WW app?

It's always there, on hand, which stops me from making bad decisions when I want to make good decisions! I just whip the app out, check the SmartPoints value, and check how many SmartPoints I've got left - it’s so easy, and takes any guesswork out of it.

I really like to track my activity on there as well - I enjoy clocking up FitPoints and seeing my progress throughout the week. I love that everything you need is in there, in the palm of your hand.

What’s your favourite feature in the app?

I love What's In Your Fridge - it’s the best feature ever! I like it because sometimes you come in from work after a hard day, it's dark outside, and you've got to cook a meal for the family. With What’s In Your Fridge, you can just take a look at what you’ve already got and the app will give you meal ideas. It helps you to make the best choices!

I also like the barcode scanner, because I can check the SmartPoints values of supermarket foods there and then.

Do you feel like you have the freedom to eat what you like?

Absolutely. There are so many different options: you can enjoy cooking at home, you can eat out, you can still enjoy snacks... You can enjoy everything as part of a healthy lifestyle; all you have to do is track it on the app, stay within your SmartPoints Budget and you’ll be fine!

I’ve personally found that I want to cook more - I use the cookbooks which are full of amazing food photography. You know that what you're eating is filling, healthy and going to help you lose weight and feel good.

What does your family think about your WW journey?

There’s definitely a ripple effect! Even my boys know all about SmartPoints and the WW recipes. And when we get a new WW cookbook, my eldest loves going through and picking which recipes he'd like to try. So it just gets everyone involved, and that makes it easier because you don't feel like you're on a separate eating plan from anybody else. You certainly don't have to eat different meals from the rest of the family. Everyone can get involved and enjoy it together!

What support is available to WW members?

If you need help, it’s there. You've got the online community Connect, with the support of the entire WW family in there. You've got all of the recipes. There are so many fantastic workouts. The whole app is really motivating.

Plus, you can find WW members everywhere! You're either standing next to them using the barcode scanner in the supermarket, or they're on Instagram, or in the app on Connect - so there's always somebody there to talk to. You can also join Connect groups to find like minded members, which is great. You’re never, ever on your own.

That’s my experience of WW, and that’s why I love it so much. And that's what I tell everyone who’ll listen!
