When did you start your WW journey?
I first joined WW in summer 2017 after finding myself in a rut with weight loss and my relationship with food. When I joined, I was 10st 13lbs and extremely unhappy with how I looked and felt. I would hide away in photos, and use photo editing apps to slim down my face. It was a horrible place to be mentally and physically, and I knew I had to do something.
So, I jumped online and joined WW’s Digital plan, which is delivered through the app. Straight away I felt in control again, and WW gave me the tools to eat the food I love and still lose weight. I was amazed by how many ZeroPoints foods there are. I’d always viewed WW as a diet, but it really is so much more. It’s a complete lifestyle change, and a way of helping you fuel your body with goodness rather than rubbish.
By December 2017 I’d reached my goal weight of 8st 6lbs. I felt happy, healthy and in total control of my relationship with food. In 2018 I got engaged to my amazing fiancé James, and was over the moon. We planned our wedding for July 2020, but unfortunately the pandemic hit and we chose to postpone until July 2021.
The disappointment hit me hard and, without a wedding to stay in shape for, I totally lost control of all mindful eating and gained a stone and a half. I felt rubbish, but this time I didn’t use the WW UK tools, I just carried on eating the wrong things and feeling unhappy with myself.
At the start of January, it felt like the end of the pandemic was in sight again. I regained control of my eating and started following the WW Blue plan again. Week by week, I chipped away at the weight I had gained.
What interested you in giving the Everyone Active opportunity a go?
I was contacted by WW with an amazing opportunity to join the WW Partnership with Everyone Active for 8 weeks. Of course, I jumped at the chance! I was offered one 45-minute personal training session a week, and a half-hour group session with the rest of the WW gang.
Tell us a little about your Everyone Active experience!
It’s safe to say I have absolutely loved every minute of the experience. Jo, the personal trainer we’re working with, is amazing and such a kind person. When we first started, we had an hour’s skype call, where we got to know each other and chatted about our individual goals.
My weekly PT sessions with her have been fab. They’re always exciting, different and challenging. I’m a total cardio princess, so using weights in my workouts was completely alien to me, but I’ve loved it. We did our sessions via Zoom with only the weights that I had at home. Jo was always looking at my posture and correcting it where needed, and making sure I had enough weights to keep it challenging for me.
Jo would always chat about how my week had been and how I was feeling, too. She looked after me not only physically but mentally as well. She’s an absolute legend and kept me going even when I didn’t feel like I wanted to.
I also did some online home workouts from the Everyone Active Instagram page. They have so many to choose from and they’re all free.
How has this opportunity helped you?
I was 9st 7lbs when I started the challenge, and now I’m 9st - so that’s half a stone gone, and I feel fab for it. Not only have I lost weight, I’ve lost inches too. The challenge has shown me I can workout from home, be on plan and get amazing results. I have loved working with WW and Everyone Active and can’t wait to continue my journey with them.
