How to sync your fitness device to automatically track activity on the WW app
The rewards of physical activity? Huge. Not only can it lead to up to 20% more weight loss when combined with eating better, but it may also boost self-esteem and mood, help you manage stress, reduce the risk of depression, and even lead to better sleep.
On WW, there’s yet another way that movement rewards you. Getting active helps you EARN Points to your weekly Budget - along with drinking water and eating non-starchy veg!
The best way to track (and get rewarded for) all of your well-earned activity Points is to sync your activity tracker. If your device isn’t connected - or if you’re not sure if it’s properly synced - follow the simple steps below. Don’t panic if you don’t see your data right away; it can occasionally take up to two hours to retrieve data from your device or app.
Sync your activity tracker
Follow these steps to easily and quickly connect your device.
- Open the WW app
- Swipe to the Activity tab from your My Day dashboard
- Scroll down to the bottom to 'Connect your device or app'
- Tap 'Device'
- Select your device from the menu to sync.
Alternatively you can access via settings.
If you track activity with Apple Health or an Apple Watch:
- Open the WW app
- Tap the person/profile icon in the top right corner (along the bottom on Androids)
- Tap the gear icon in the top right corner
- Tap 'Activity/ Sleep Settings'
- Tap 'AppleHealth'
- Tap “Connect to Apple Health," then tap "Turn All Categories On" to sync.
If you track activity with Fitbit, Withings, Misfit, Garmin or MapMyRun:
Select your device from the menu to sync.
Now that your device is connected, you can start earning your activity Points and get them automatically added to your Budget. Remember: there’s no right or wrong way to get active. WW encourages you to move any way you like, at your own pace. Walk, swim, skateboard, clean the house - it all counts! You can find lots of workouts in your WW app.
Sync your device for easy sleep tracking
Just like tracking your weight and food, tracking your sleep can be a powerful wellness tool. Knowing how much sleep you get and when you’re getting it can show you what’s working (and what’s not) giving you the power to make healthy changes that improve your shut-eye.
