Ingredients

Pear(s)

4 medium, ripe, peeled, cored, halved lengthwise

Lemon juice

3 tsp

Ground cinnamon

¾ tsp

Ground allspice

¼ tsp, (pinch)

Reduced fat oil spread

3 tsp, melted

99% fat-free, plain or natural yoghurt, unsweetened

¼ cup(s), (60g)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 230°C. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  2. Combine pears, juice, cinnamon and allspice in a medium bowl and toss to combine.
  3. Using a sharp knife, cut each pear half lengthwise, almost through to the base, into 5mm thick slices, keeping top intact. Using a spatula, carefully transfer sliced pear halves to prepared tray. Gently press down on each half to slightly fan slices open. Drizzle with melted spread. Bake for 15–20 minutes or until pears are tender.
  4. Serve topped with yoghurt.

Notes

Tip: To prep the pears, use a vegetable peeler to peel them, then slice them in half lengthwise. Use a teaspoon or melon baller to carefully scoop out the cores, the line that runs up to the stem, and the bud at the bottom of each pear.
