Traditional "barbecue" takes hours to simmer, but if you start with sautéed pork tenderloin, you can whip up this savoury classic in minutes.

Ingredients

Uncooked lean pork tenderloin

1 pound(s), sliced 1/2-inch thick

Onion

1 small, finely chopped

Garlic

1 clove(s), large, minced

Canned tomato sauce

15 oz

Worcestershire sauce

1½ tbsp(s)

White wine vinegar

1 tbsp(s)

Table salt

¼ tsp(s)

Black pepper

¼ pinch(es)

Reduced calorie hamburger buns

4 bun(s)

Instructions

  1. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add pork slices in a single layer and brown 2 minutes per side. Do not crowd; do in batches if necessary. Remove pork and set aside. Add onion and garlic to skillet; sauté over medium heat until tender, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, salt and pepper to skillet; stir and simmer 1 minute. Add pork; spoon sauce over pork, cover and simmer 15 minutes.
  3. Divide pork among 4 buns. Top with sauce from skillet and serve.
