Sweet and salty scallops are coated with a blend of chili powder, cumin and garlic and seared to a golden brown. They're served in tortillas with mild wasabi sauce.

Ingredients

Chili powder

Cumin seeds

Garlic powder

¼ tsp(s)

Table salt

¼ tsp(s)

Black pepper

¼ pinch(es), ground

Uncooked scallops

1 pound(s)

Olive oil

2 tsp(s), or vegetable oil

Light sour cream

½ cup(s)

Cucumber

2 tbsp(s), finely shredded

Wasabi powder

1 tbsp(s), or more to taste

Cilantro

2 tsp(s), chopped fresh

Whole wheat tortilla

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, combine chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Add scallops and turn to coat all over.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add scallops and sauté 5 to 7 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine sour cream, cucumber, wasabi paste, and cilantro. Mix well.
  4. Serve scallops in tortillas with wasabi-cucumber sauce on the side.
