Cool off on a hot day with this chocolate-spiked drink with a coffee kick. It’s sweet, easy, and perfectly suited for chocolate lovers. An egg cream is a classic fountain drink, but despite the name, it contains neither eggs nor cream. Instead, it combines carbonated water with milk and a variety of flavoured syrups. Here, we’ve opted for coffee and chocolate, but it’s versatile.

Ingredients

Ice cube(s)

1 cup(s)

Black coffee

¼ cup(s), strong brewed, chilled

Skim milk

¼ cup(s)

Light chocolate syrup

2½ Tbsp

Seltzer

¼ cup(s)

Instructions

  1. Fill a tall glass with ice. Add coffee, milk and syrup; stir until blended. Top off with seltzer; stir.
  2. Makes 1 serving.

Notes

You could substitute light caramel syrup for the chocolate syrup or stir in vanilla extract. There’s a wide range of potential flavour combinations, but no matter how you mix it, it is a perfect summer drink.
