Update your regular hamburger with this fresh Greek twist. These burgers are deliciously seasoned with oregano, onion, and garlic. They're topped with crumbled feta cheese and fresh baby spinach for even more flavor. Top with tomato slices, ketchup, or tzatziki. Swap lean ground chicken, turkey, or lamb for the beef. Serve these flavourful burgers with roasted potatoes or sweet potatoes.

Ingredients

Cooking spray

4 spray(s)

Uncooked lean ground beef

1 pound(s)

Onion

½ cup(s), finely chopped

Garlic

1 clove(s), large, finely chopped

Dried oregano

½ tsp(s)

Table salt

¼ tsp(s)

Black pepper

¼ pinch(es)

Light hamburger bun

4 bun(s)

Fresh spinach

¾ cup(s), baby leaves

Reduced-fat feta cheese

4 tbsp(s)

Instructions

  1. In medium bowl, mix beef, onion, garlic, oregano, salt, and black pepper and gently form into 4 (3⁄4-inch-thick) patties.
  2. Off heat, coat grill rack or grill pan with nonstick spray. Preheat gas grill or grill pan to medium-high, or prepare medium-high fire in charcoal grill. Grill patties for 4 minutes. Turn patties over and continue to grill until cooked through, 3 to 4 minutes more.
  3. Build burgers with rolls, patties, spinach, and cheese.
  4. Serving size: 1 burger

Notes

You can also cook these burgers on an outdoor grill. Adjust cooking time accordingly. Top with tomato slices, ketchup or tzatziki. Swap lean ground chicken, turkey or lamb for the beef (could affect Points values).
