Looking for a classic, creamy hummus but with a spin? This dill pickle hummus is sure to please everyone even if you are not a big pickle lover. This is a healthy snack that you will have difficulty sharing! Serve with carrot sticks and celery or pita for scooping.


Canned drained chickpeas

15 oz, (1 can), drained

Olive oil

1 tbsp(s)

Pickle juice

½ cup(s)

Ground cumin

2 tsp(s)

Smoked paprika

2 tsp(s)

Fresh dill

2 tbsp(s), chopped

Unsweetened dill pickle

2 spear(s), chopped in large pieces

Table salt

tsp(s), or to taste

Black pepper

tsp(s), or to taste


  1. In a food processor, combine chickpeas, olive oil, pickle juice, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Blend on high speed until chickpeas are completely smooth, approximately 1 to 2 minutes. Add pickles and process, leaving some pickle pieces for texture.
  2. Spoon hummus onto a plate or into shallow bowl. Garnish with freshly chopped dill.
  3. Serving size: 1⁄4 cup
