Homemade chips will liven up all of your parties and family get-togethers as a salty, crunchy snack. There's no deep-frying required here, and they come together in less than half an hour. The best part is that all you need is sweet potatoes, vegetable oil, and salt to make them. You can have homemade chips on hand whenever the craving hits. We recommend thinly slicing the potatoes in a food processor or with a mandoline, but you can do it by hand too if you prefer. If any leftover chips become soggy, simply put them back in a hot oven for a few minutes.

Ingredients

Sweet potato

1 large, peeled

Vegetable oil

2 tsp(s)

Table salt

tsp(s), or to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Spray 2 baking sheets with cooking spray.
  2. Thinly slice potatoes in a food processor or by hand; they should be no more than 1/8-inch thick.
  3. Arrange slices on baking sheets so they don't overlap. Brush with oil and sprinkle with salt. Bake chips until they begin to lightly brown, about 15 minutes. Cool on a rack and serve.
  4. Serving size: 1/4 cup
