Here is a super fun appetizer. Refrigerated fresh ravioli are simply coated with an egg wash and sprinkled with cheese before being baked until crispy. Then warm up a little purchased marinara sauce and serve on the side for dipping. What could be easier? Be sure to use refrigerated fresh ravioli (not frozen) for two reasons: It’s at the ideal texture, and there’s no need to parboil it before baking. It’s best when served warm but also quite delicious at room temperature.


Store-bought cheese ravioli without sauce

9 oz

Raw egg(s)

1 large

Grated Parmesan cheese


Dried oregano

1 tsp(s)

Jarred fat-free marinara sauce

¾ cup(s)


  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large bowl, toss ravioli with egg to coat. Sprinkle with cheese and oregano and toss well. Arrange in a single layer on prepared pan. Bake at 400°F until browned on bottom, about 10 minutes. Turn ravioli over and bake until browned on bottom, about 5 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, in a small microwave-safe bowl, microwave marinara on High for 45 seconds or until warm. Serve ravioli with sauce.
  3. Serving size: ⅓ cup ravioli and 4 tsp sauce
