The after-school snack so many of us grew up with just got a healthy air fryer upgrade. We use wonton wrappers to enclose a filling of light string cheese, turkey pepperoni, and marinara sauce. The wrappers cook to a shatteringly crisp crunchiness in the air fryer, while the cheese melts and binds the filling ingredients together. With their familiar taste, gooey-cheesy filling, and better, crunchier texture, they’re destined to become a family favourite after the first bite.

Ingredients
Cooking spray
4 spray(s)
Wonton wrappers
12 item(s)
Jarred fat-free marinara sauce
6 tsp(s)
Turkey pepperoni
6 piece(s), finely chopped
Part-skim mozzarella cheese
⅓ cup(s), shredded, 1 cubes of cheese per wonton wrapper
Instructions
1
Working with 1 wonton wrapper at a time, arrange wrapper on work surface so that it looks like a diamond. Spoon ½ tsp marinara sauce in center of wrapper; top with about ¼ tsp pepperoni and 1 piece of cheese. Moisten edges of wrapper with water. Fold top and bottom corners of wrapper over cheese and press to seal. Fold in left corner of wrapper and roll over to seal to the right corner. Gently press all edges to seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers and fillings.

Preheat an air fryer, if necessary, to 400°F. Coat air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange half of pizza rolls in a single layer in air fryer basket. Coat pizza rolls with cooking spray. (Cover remaining pizza rolls to prevent them from drying out). Air fry until browned and crisp, 6 to 8 minutes. Remove from air fryer; repeat with remaining pizza rolls.
