Ingredients

Dry jasmine rice

1 cup(s), (200g)

Soy sauce

1½ tbs

Sesame oil

2 tsp

Sriracha sauce

3 tsp

Beef rump steak, raw

400 g, cut into strips

Yellow capsicum

2 medium, chopped

Carrot(s)

2 medium, coarsely grated

Avocado

1 medium, sliced

Kimchi

100 g, drained

Sesame seeds

1 tsp, black variety

Green shallot(s)

1 individual, finely sliced, to serve

Micro herbs

½ cup(s), such as cress, snow pea sprouts, to serve (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook rice in a large pot of salted, boiling water according to packet instructions.
  2. Meanwhile, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, and sriracha in a large bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Add beef and set aside in fridge to marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Heat a large non-stick frying pan over high heat. Cook steak for 3-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your liking. Allow to rest for 10 minutes, then season with salt.
  4. Divide rice, capsicum, carrots, avocado and kimchi among 4 serving bowls. Top with steak and sprinkle with sesame seeds, shallots and micro herbs (if using) to serve.
