This side dish comes together in a flash and just might get kids into broccoli. (Props to the sauce.) Add more colour with red bell pepper strips or carrot coins. No need for knife work in this recipe. Use kitchen shears to snip broccoli florets off the center stalk.

Ingredients

Broccoli florets

4 cup(s), small, fresh, or frozen

Soy sauce

2 tbsp(s)

Honey

1 tbsp(s)

Dark sesame oil

2 tsp(s)

Sesame seeds

2 tsp(s), toasted

Garlic

1 clove(s), large, crushed with a garlic press

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, bring 1 inch of water to a boil. Arrange the broccoli in a steamer basket. Set the basket in the pan. Cover and steam until the broccoli is crisp-tender, about 4 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, in a serving bowl, stir the soy sauce, honey, oil, sesame seeds, and garlic. Add the broccoli and toss until well combined.
  3. Per serving: 1 cup
