Roasted chickpeas are a great protein-packed snack but who wants to wait 45 minutes or longer to roast them when the craving for a crunchy snack hits? Thanks to the air fryer you can be munching away in just 10 minutes. We’ve used five spice powder here which is a combination of warm spices like star anise, clove, and cinnamon, but you can easily swap it out for chili powder, curry powder, or salt-free Cajun seasoning. Aside from snacking on them, try sprinkling them over salads in lieu of croutons.

  1. Preheat air fryer to 390°F. Coat basket with cooking spray.
  2. Drain, rinse, and pat dry chickpeas. Transfer to a bowl and toss with ½ tsp of five spice powder and ¼ tsp of the salt.
  3. Place chickpeas in prepared basket in a single layer.
  4. Air fry until golden and crisp, about 10 minutes. Transfer to bowl and sprinkle with remaining ½ tsp five spice powder and ¼ tsp salt
  5. Per serving: ¼ cup
