Zero Point foods explained
With WW Freestyle™, all foods are yours for the eating and enjoying. You can choose foods based on their SmartPoints values, your SmartPoints Budget (the amount of SmartPoints you have to spend)—and what you’re in the mood for.
To give you the maximum freedom and flexibility with your SmartPoints Budget, we’ve designated a wide range of go-to options as “zero Points® foods.” Now, foods like skinless chicken and turkey breast, fish, shellfish, eggs, peas, corn, beans, nonfat unsweetened yogourt—and of course fruits and veggies—all have a SmartPoints value of zero! That means you do not have to weigh, measure, or track them.
Zero Points food list
Foods designated as zero Points foods were chosen because they help form the foundation for a healthy eating pattern. They are also much less likely to be overeaten than other foods (it’s harder to eat six chicken breasts than six cookies). They include:
- Skinless chicken breast
- Skinless turkey breast
- Shellfish (shrimp, lobster, oysters, mussels)
- Eggs (including the yolks!)
- Beans and lentils
- Vegetables (including corn and peas!)
- Nonfat plain yogourt
By mixing and matching foods with a variety of SmartPoints, you’ll never have to worry about running out of things to eat—with so many zero Points foods, to choose from, you always have room in your SmartPoints budget for a tasty and satisfying meal!
Note: Dried forms of fruits and veggies (e.g. popcorn, baked chickpeas, and dried fruits) WILL have SmartPoints values. Why? Because they’re considered a snack-type food and are easy to over-consume.
