Hi! I’m Allison Grupski and I’m a clinical health psychologist. No, not the type that has you lay down on a couch (though many of them are my friends!). I’m the kind that has spent a lot of time learning what strategies help people make changes in their lives to get healthier. My job is to help make your first four weeks on WW as easy—and successful—as possible.

So here’s my recommendation for today: Just track.

That’s it. Track your food. Don't worry about staying within your SmartPoints Budget. There’s plenty of time for that. Right now your focus is on learning about your own eating habits and figuring out how to track in a way that works for you. So just be curious, and put away any judgmental thoughts.

Don’t worry about the numbers. Right now you’re simply practicing a new skill.

Maybe you’re wondering: Why track at all? Well, loads of research shows it’s one of the best ways to become more aware of your choices. Much of what we do day-to-day happens almost on autopilot. But when we slow down and pay attention, we learn a lot about our patterns and the small, healthy shifts we can make. And those small shifts can lead to major changes in your body, your health, and how you feel every day. Tracking gives you information that puts you in the driver’s seat. So just track.
