Nothing quite beats the sound of the sizzle when healthy food hits a hot grill. The aroma of the food as it cooks outdoors. The warmth of the sun on your face… Yes, summer's almost here; the time of year we spend with loved ones, basking in the sun, gathered around a hot grill. Because Canadian summers are so fleeting, we’ve gone ahead and finished the meal planning for your next cookout.

An Argentinian cookout

 

​Cooking with herbs can boost the nutritional content of your meal while also off-setting some of the chemical changes that happen to foodwhen barbecued. Chimichurri (the official condiment of Argentina) contains parsley, which is rich in antioxidants that help to protect against free radicals that are created when meat is grilled. 

Tip: Serve a platter of lettuce leaves with the flank steak for wrapping.
