Jonathan’s ‘why’

“I joined WW because I wanted to lose weight for me, but also for my kids. I have two boys and I want to live a happy, long and healthy life so that I can watch my sons grow into amazing men. And I also want to be a positive role model for them, so that they live happy and healthy lives, too.”

Q&A with Jonathan

Why is the PersonalPoints Program such a big deal?

“In a nutshell? It’s personalised for me. I always feel satisfied with what I eat, every single day. And the best thing is you can tweak your plan whenever you want or need to. I recently swapped out oats for fish as one of my personal ZeroPoint foods and BAM, my plan felt even better and even more personalised. If I go on holiday, I might change it again so that I have more ZeroPoint foods to play with. Having the freedom to do that is liberating.”

How much do you love earning Points for those healthy habits?

“That’s been so good for me. My skin looks so much better for drinking two litres of water a day and getting extra Points for that, as well as the physical activity I do, is amazing. And the fact that I can add Points to my budget just by eating non-starchy veggies not only means that I always have an option for a snack that fills me up, but that I have extra Points available, too. It’s incredible.”

What surprised you most about WW?

“I’d read that WW is a way of life, not a diet but I didn’t really understand what that meant until I was living it myself. WW has helped me change the way I think about food and understand that I don’t need to sacrifice anything. Two weeks in and I was hooked. WW is so much more than losing weight. It’s about creating healthy habits – you just lose weight along the way. And the thing about that is, it means you can keep the weight off. I’ve tried so many ways to lose weight in the past – intermittent fasting, calorie counting, you name it. I’d lose weight but I’d also put it straight back on the minute I stopped. That’s why I love WW so much. With the habits it helps you develop, alongside the tools and support you get, I’m able to maintain my new weight.”

And now you’re a WW ambassador! How good is that?

“Words can’t describe how happy I am to be a WW ambassador. It’s such an honour. When I first joined WW and got involved with Connect and created my Instagram profile, my main aim was to be 100 per cent myself. I’m a big energy and sometimes worry I can be a bit ‘much’, but if anything, the WW community has only encouraged me to shine brighter and bigger. I’ve never felt so accepted for who I am, so to be asked to be an ambassador for WW is life changing for me. I still find it hard to believe that I inspire people because I’m just being myself, but that’s what I’d love to help other people do, too. I just want to encourage others to be true to themselves.”

So, how do you feel these days?

“I feel amazing. I have so much more energy for my children and my outlook on life is awesome. Creating healthy habits and just having a healthier lifestyle thanks to joining WW, has honestly been the best thing to happen to me recently. I’m so happy and blessed to be part of it.”
