Life before WW was tiring. I ate on the go and I absolutely dreaded cooking. I have a big family and cooking was a chore. I had a ridiculous addiction to chocolate that was completely out of control but I wanted to find a healthier way to live without losing the ability to eat chocolate. I didn't want a life of shakes and quick fixes. I wanted real food and it had to be good!
I joined WW with a friend and after my first Workshop I walked out with 2 new cookbooks and a vision of what I wanted for myself and my family.
I have created a love for cooking and I absolutely love sharing my creations with others and letting people see that nothing is off limits with WW.
The program has made my life so simple, plus it helps you succeed mentally as it brings kindness back to how you treat yourself. These are all amazing strategies that I am learning and sharing with others.
I have gone from a 134kg (144.4kg my highest weight) woman who was struggling with sleep apnea, extremely bad food habits and an uncontrollable chocolate habit, to a fit and healthy woman who longer has type 2 diabetes. When I started WW, my HBA1C was 56 and within 3 months of joining WW I had dropped that to 36 which is as normal as you can get!
In May of 2019 I was on a sleep study and I was stopping breathing 45-50 times an hour. In January this year I completed a follow up sleep study and I am now considered normal and have given the sleep apnea machine back!
With the support of my Dr, I applied for an apronectomy to have the excess skin removed from my stomach and in October 2021 I had 3.89kgs of skin removed from my tummy.
I have so much more confidence in my life because I walked into that WW Workshop. I absolutely love the WW lifestyle and I share it with whoever will listen! I am most proud of the fact that I have been able to change, with the help of WW, my whole family's way of life. We were extremely unhealthy and getting bigger by the week but now with WW my whole family is living better!
My best advice to others is don't try and change everything all at once. It can be overwhelming. Instead take it one meal at a time, one day at a time.
