It’s so simple to make your own burgers – prepare these for entertaining at a bbq, or for an evening meal.

Ingredients

Lean Beef Mince (10% fat), cooked

500 g, (1lb 2oz)

Onion

1 small, finely chopped

Oregano, Dried

2 teaspoon(s), level

Worcestershire Sauce

2 tablespoon(s)

Egg white, raw

1 g, lightly beaten

Lettuce

4 leaf/leaves, small, shredded

Cherry Tomatoes

100 g

Pickled gherkins, no added sugar

2 medium, drained, or dill pickles, sliced (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix together the mince, onion, oregano, Worcestershire sauce and egg white. Season with salt and pepper. Shape into 4 burgers, wrap and chill ready to cook.
  2. Preheat the grill or barbecue. Cook each burger for 4-5 minutes on both sides.
  3. Serve on a plate with lettuce or rocket leaves, cherry tomatoes and pickled gherkins

Notes

Serve the beef burgers on 4 x 60g burger buns, if you like. The SmartPoints will be Green (11), Blue (11), Purple (11).
