Forget boring old salted or toffee. There are endless exciting, healthy popcorn flavours to choose from – so long as you make it yourself! And it couldn’t be easier (or cheaper) to do…

Ingredients

Icing Sugar

6 teaspoon(s), level

Ground Cinnamon

1 teaspoon(s), level

Ground Nutmeg

¼ teaspoon(s), level

Allspice

¼ teaspoon(s)

Salt

¼ teaspoon(s)

Popping Corn, Uncooked

80 g

Calorie controlled cooking spray

4 spray(s)

Instructions

  1. Pop the popcorn kernels in an air popper, if you have one. Otherwise, put the kernels in a large microwave-safe bowl and cover with a vented lid or a plate. Microwave on high for 3-4 minutes, or until there’s about 5 seconds between pops. Be careful when you take the lid off , as it’ll be steaming hot!
  2. Mix the icing sugar with the cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and salt. Mist the popcorn with calorie controlled cooking spray and toss with the sugar mixture to coat.

Notes

Get ahead with snacks by making a larger batch of popcorn - once cooled, it will keep in an airtight container for 2-3 days.
