Rapeseed Oil

Onion
1 large, chopped
Garlic
2 clove(s), sliced
Cumin seeds
1 teaspoon(s), level
Turmeric

Cloves, Whole or Ground
⅛ teaspoon(s), level, 1 pinch
Cardamom Pods
1 teaspoon(s), crushed seeds of 4
Cinnamon Stick
1 stick(s)
Peas, fresh or frozen
100 g
White basmati rice, dry

Mist a large pan with cooking spray and fry the onion for 6-8 minutes, until soft.

Add the garlic, ground turmeric, cumin seeds, ground cloves, the crushed seeds of the cardamom pods and cinnamon stick, and cook for 1-2 minutes (add a splash of water if it catches).

Add the rice, frozen peas and 550ml boiling water, then stir and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from the heat and let stand for 10 minutes, then serve.
