Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Mist a large pan with calorie controlled cooking spray and fry 1 chopped onion for 6-8 minutes, until soft.
  2. Add 2 sliced garlic cloves, 1 teaspoon ground turmeric, 1 teaspoon cumin seeds, 1 pinch ground cloves, the crushed seeds of 4 cardamom pods and 1 cinnamon stick, and cook for 1-2 minutes (add a splash of water if it catches).
  3. Add 240g basmati rice, 100g frozen peas and 550ml boiling water, then stir and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from the heat and let stand for 10 minutes, then serve.
