Naturally sweet pears keep this pudding low in sugar, so it won’t send you off track

Ingredients

Calorie controlled cooking spray

4 spray(s), butter flavour

Pear

650 g, Conference, peeled, cored and thinly sliced

Plain White Flour

125 g

Low Fat Spread

50 g

Demerara Sugar

45 g

Ground Almonds

50 g

Almonds

20 g, flaked

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C, fan 180°C, gas mark 6. Mist a 20cm oval baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. Put the pears in a medium pan, cover with boiling water and set over a medium heat. Simmer for 7 minutes, or until the pears are just tender. Drain, then arrange the slices over the base of the dish.
  3. Put the flour and spread in a medium bowl then rub together using your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs. Add the sugar and ground and flaked almonds, then stir to combine. Sprinkle the crumble over the pears then mist with cooking spray.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the crumble is golden and bubbling. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Spoon over 100g reduced-fat custard, if you like.
