So simple, so quick, so delicious! Who needs carbonara when this pasta dish is just as tasty?


White pasta, dry

125 g

Petits Pois, boiled

50 g

Egg, whole, raw

1 medium, raw, beaten

Parmesan Cheese

25 g, grated

Gammon/ham joint, boiled

2 slice(s), thick cut

Chives, Fresh

1 tablespoon(s), snipped


  1. Cook the pasta according to the packet instructions. Just before draining, add the petits pois. Save a cup of the cooking water when you drain the pasta and petits pois.
  2. Meanwhile, mix the egg with the grated Parmesan and season with black pepper.
  3. Tip the drained pasta and peas back into the hot pan and stir in the egg mixture, 2 tablespoons of the reserved cooking water and the ham and chives. The residual heat should be enough to just cook the egg lightly. If not, heat it very gently for 1 minute, stirring, then serve immediately.
