Easy Chinese soup
Ready-prepared stir-fry vegetables are used to make this super-speedy soup, with its distinctive Asian flavour.
Vegetable stock cube(s)
Chinese 5 Spice
½ teaspoon(s), level
1 teaspoon(s), finely grated
Chilli, green or red
½ individual, de-seeded and thinly sliced (optional)
Sainsbury's Oriental Vegetable Stir Fry
350 g, (use any brand)
- Measure 850ml (1½ pints) of boiling water from the kettle into the saucepan. Stir in the stock powder or stock cubes and add the Chinese five spice powder, ginger and chilli (if using).
- Add the bag of stir-fry vegetables. Bring to the boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Season with soy sauce and black pepper before serving.
