This hearty, gorgeous-looking salad gets its sophisticated flavor from fresh, thinly sliced fennel, which imparts a subtle taste of anise. As well as the fennel, it features a simple homemade dressing of balsamic vinegar, olive oil, ground sage, salt, and pepper. Toss the fennel and cannellini beans in the dressing, and you're done!
