Turkey sandwiches get a makeover with this tasty Italian-version. Cream cheese is mixed with lemon and Italian seasoning, spread on bread and then layered with roasted turkey breast (homemade or store-bought), roasted red peppers and fresh, fragrant basil. Tender baby spinach leaves, peppery arugula or baby kale leaves are also great options. If you have a panini press, turn this into a hot sandwich.

Low fat cream cheese

Lemon zest

Italian seasoning

Black pepper

Whole wheat bread

Cooked skinless turkey breast
12 oz, thinly sliced
Roasted red peppers (packed in water)
½ cup(s), thinly sliced
Fresh basil
8 leaf/leaves
Instructions

Mash together cream cheese, lemon zest, Italian seasoning, and black pepper in a small bowl.

Spread cheese mixture evenly over 4 slices of the bread. Layer evenly with turkey, roasted red pepper, and basil. Cover with remaining slices of bread.
