Serve this protein-rich spread on slices of zucchini or celery sticks. It’s also good with warmed pita bread or sesame breadsticks.
Ingredients

canned white beans

15½ oz, rinsed and drained

canned chunk white tuna in water

6 oz, drained

basil

3 Tbsp, fresh, chopped

fresh lemon juice

1 Tbsp

olive oil

1 Tbsp, extra-virgin

capers

1 tsp, drained

garlic clove(s)

1 medium clove(s), chopped

table salt

¼ tsp

black pepper

¼ tsp, freshly ground

Instructions

  1. Process the beans, tuna, basil, lemon juice, oil, capers, garlic, salt, and pepper in a food processor until smooth. Transfer the mixture to a serving bowl and serve at once. Or refrigerate, covered, until ready to serve, up to 1 day. Yields 1/4 cup per serving.
